How long does dog training take?
Training timelines vary by program, starting skill level, behavior history, and owner follow-through. Some programs run for two to eight weeks, while more complex behavior cases may require additional time and management.

Do you offer puppy training?
Yes! We teach basic commands, manners, and socialization for puppies.
Can you train aggressive dogs?
Yes. NOVA offers dedicated programs for aggression and reactivity, including private aggression-focused lessons and a 3 Week Reactivity Board & Train. Program suitability depends on the individual dog and behavior history.
What’s included in a Board & Train program?
Inclusions depend on the selected package. Review its published curriculum, equipment, owner instruction, and follow-up support before booking. Off-leash training, guarantees, and lifetime refreshers should not be assumed to apply to every program. Compare our current training packages and confirm the terms with the team.
Do you train aggressive or reactive dogs?
Yes! We offer an 8-lesson reactivity course and a specialized 3-week board & train for dogs with aggression or anxiety—focusing on safety, control, and confidence.
What age can my puppy start training?
We begin with puppies as young as 8 weeks through our Puppy Training Course and consultation sessions. Early socialization and crate/potty training set a solid foundation.
What equipment is included with training?
Many programs include an e-collar, training leash, clicker, and even a gear bundle (for expedited packages). These tools are taught using positive reinforcement and clear communication.
At what age can my puppy start training?

Eligibility for obedience lessons and Board & Train depends on the selected program. Discuss your puppy’s age, health, vaccination status, and development with the team before enrolling.
Will my dog always need the e-collar?
Not at all. The e-collar is a training tool—not a crutch. Most dogs become so reliable with commands that the collar becomes unnecessary in daily life.
Do you use e-collars, treats, or marker training?
Methods and equipment depend on the program. Marker Mastery™ uses positive reinforcement, markers, and clicker training without e-collars or prong collars. Elite Obedience includes an e-collar and a 15-foot leash. During your consultation, ask how treats, other rewards, markers, and any recommended equipment will be used with your dog.
